Carlos Almanzar-Torres, 21, argued with Damian Santiago, 19, before removing a firearm from his jacket and chasing Santiago around the gas station located at 111 West Orange Street, Lancaster City bureau police say in the updated release.

Santiago was found shot in the right shoulder inside the store, according to the release.

Almanzar-Torres told investigators that he was going to shoot the victim again, but instead punched him three or four times, the release shows.

Almanzar-Torres originally fled the scene only to turn himself in at the Lancaster City Police Station approximately an hour after the incident.

Two store employees witnessed the exchange between the men and assisted the police.

"The suspect and the victim were known to each other and this was not a random act of violence," police say.

Almanzar-Torres of the 500 block of St. Joseph Street in Lancaster City,  has been charged with one count of Criminal Homicide and two counts of Recklessly Endangering by Detective Ryan Burgett.

He has been held in the Lancaster County Prison after being denied bail, court records show.

The investigation into this deadly shooting continues.

Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to call Detective Burgett with the Lancaster City Police at (717) 735-3412 or Lancaster City-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-1913.
